Capsicum chinense
CHILLI-HABANERO-ORANGE starts out dark green ripening to orange, the hottest home garden chilli, 50mm wrinkled tapered lantern shaped fruit around 3 to 6cm long, used fresh or dried in sauces, salsa, chutney, and pickles.

A short spreading plant. Habanero is among the hottest chilli pepper commonly grown in the world. Closely related to the Scotch Bonnet, they are fiery hot and extremely pungent with an aromatic flavour and a clean but very intense heat. Habanero is the cultivar of Capsicum chinense that is regarded as the hottest of the chillies. Capsicum chinense originates from Brazil and has been domesticated since 2000-1000 B.C. The orange Habanero variety is believed to have originated in the Yucatan.
