Cucumis sativus
CUCUMBER-SUYO LONG, Chinese variety with tender skin, firm flesh & small seeds. Considered to be burpless. Don’t let its odd appearance fool you, this is one sweet cucumber. Great raw, but also stands up well to a quick pickling. Growing to 40 cm long on vigorous vines, the sweet ribbed fruits can be picked at any stage, from very young to fully mature. Non-bitter, excellent for salads. Widely adaptable, but loves warm weather. Grow it on a trellis for straighter fruits. Resists Powdery Mildew.
Sow in fertile well drained soil. Cover with soil & firm down lightly & keep moist. Seeds can be started indoors. Trellis recommended.
