BEETROOT-BULLS BLOOD is a Victorian heritage beetroot, Bull’s Blood greens turn dark burgundy and develop a rich flavor. This beet grows both delicious tops & roots. The tops are a dark red to purple color & are great in salads. The roots are sweet and firm. Quick growing & can be ready in 56 days. Harvest baby greens at 35 days or so. Sow seed where it is to grow in early spring or late summer.
Soak the seed in warm water for an hour before sowing (it helps germination) Sow thinly in rows, the rows should be 30cm apart. Cover lightly with 2.5cm of soil. Firm gently and water carefully.
