Capsicum annuum
CAPSICUM-SWEET CHOCOLATE is a lovely, sweet, chocolate-brown colored heirloom capsicum. Any capsicum that looks so different from the classic green should have a unique taste & the chocolate bell doesn’t disappoint. They start out green & look just like other capsicums in the garden, but then the fruit starts to turn deep chocolate brown as it ripens. The flesh inside is crispy, sweeter than a classic bell pepper and dark red in color. The sweet taste and deep color inside & out make this capsicum ideal for dressing up a summer salad.
Crops well & tolerates cool nights, easy to grow, tastes fantastic and looks stunning. I use liquid fertilizer once germinated & transplant when all danger of frost has passed & the soil is warm. Plants usually reach about 60cm in height. Keep well fertilized and watered. Pick early fruit green to encourage more fruiting.
