OTHER-MUSTARD Green manure crop can also be grown as a herb for cooking with the seeds. Great in Indian cooking, condiments or pickles. Forage mustard has been found by CSIRO to aid organic control of nematodes and soil pathogens like fungi, along with weed suppression . As a green manure crop it works best as it decomposes when dug into the soil or planted before nematode susceptible crops such as carrots, onion, cereals. Will readily regrow unless harvested. Plant with other green manure crops. Sprinkle on top of soil and cover lightly with soil or plant 5mm deep, 30cm apart in 40cm rows. Or plant 8 to 18 seeds per 30cm. Germinates 4 – 21 days with soil temp 7 to 29C. Prefers cooler climate, heat and drought tolerant
